Together We Are Better: Goals and Plans

Saturday, January 2, 2016

Hey y'all! I'm linking up with {Schroeder Shenanigans in 2nd} and {Lucky Little Learners} to talk about my plans and goals! New Year = New You right?! There are several goals I would like to accomplish in my personal, professional, and business life.

Through blogging, {Facebook}, and {Teachers Pay Teachers} I have had the privilege of "meeting" several amazing teachers. I would love to make connections with even more amazing teachers. Collaborating with teachers around the globe help make my classroom even more successful and fun. Another business goal I have is to add Common Core/Indiana Standards to my products. This is something that NEEDS to be done. It will also help me become more acquainted with the standards! Win/Win!
I just realized I also want to be a little better at taking pictures of all the amazing teachers I get to meet!
In my classroom,  I want to do a better job focusing on vocabulary. My husband uses big words( for real) and I REALLY have to use my context clues to figure them out sometimes. I know there is room for improvement in this area in the classroom. It's okay for my students to have to use context clues to figure out what I'm talking about, and good for them!
Another goal I have for teacher-self is to take more {Go Noodle} breaks! I know this sounds weird, but I love Go Noodle. We Go Noodle at least once a day...but that's not enough. We only get one 30 minute recess and of course the kids go to special everyday, but I they deserve more moving around time. Most of them really try hard, and they need that wiggle time more often. What's a 2 minute break every couple hours? Nothing! It won't interrupt the curriculum, it won't throw groups off schedule, IT'S FINE! I'm just going to do it!

This is one of our FAVORITE Go Noodle Videos! Koo Koo Kangaroo has it going on!

This time of year everyone is jumping on the gym bandwagon, but I want to continue my work out schedule. My husband and I have been working kinda hard since August in getting fit and healthier. (We may or may not have went to the local Mexican restaurant for dinner tonight though...) I also want to work on not bringing work home with me. I am a habitual offender when it comes to bringing work home and not spending time with my hubs. I would really like to get that under control if we ever decide to start a family together! (Still not sure about that though:))

Have you thought about your goals and plans for the New Year?
